Here's how it works.

Whether you've thrown axes for a while or want to try something new, our venue is perfect for you! All of our staff provide training sessions at the beginning of your booking. If you've been throwing for a while, you'll be happy to hear our lanes comply with WATL (World Axe Throwing League) standards.

First step, book with us (inquire below) - then we'll do the heavy lifting. Our facility is cleaned between each change of customers according to CDC guidelines and DOH regulations. We will set you up with everything you need (axes, scoreboard, etc), and replace the targets as needed. You'll need to wear CLOSED-TOE SHOES, sign a waiver, participate in a safety briefing and a training session, then we'll take a back seat and let you practice. Our onsite staff will be there to enforce our safety rules as well as be a helping hand if you need further demonstration, recommendations or overall tips.

Our setup has two targets per "double" lane, and we generally recommend up to 8 people (maximum of 10 people) per two targets (or double lane). With each lane, you'll have access to a picnic table for any food and drinks you bring along (we're BYO food & drink).

You can rent our space for a minimum of an hour - although we recommend booking a two hour window (or more) so you can really get the hang of it! Our business hours, pricing options & a form to make a reservation are below...keep scrolling!

The basics of throwing.

Grip

Place your dominant hand around the bottom of the handle of the axe. Place your other hand over the dominant hand. Cross your thumbs.

Stance

Hold axe outward in front of you with the blade as straight as possible in relation to the target. Right handed throwers should put their left foot forward, and vice-versa for lefties.

Wind-up

Rock your body forward with the axe extended toward the target. Rock your body backward and bring the axe straight back over your head. You look like a badass right now.

Release

Bring the axe forward at a fast pace and release it toward the target with arms extended. Be sure to follow through and allow your hands to reach your sides.

Safety first.

Safety is our #1 priority. When you first arrive onsite, you will need to participate in our mandatory safety briefing before the training session begins. Please wear CLOSED-TOE SHOES and be aware that our facility is located in a barn without central air.

All of our safety guidelines must be followed, and any participant not adhering to our rules will be asked to leave the property without a refund.

*COVID-19 Safety Precautions: we'll take care of most of this, but please remember to thoroughly wash your hands, and DON'T LICK THE AXES!!! Our facility is cleaned between each change of customers according to CDC guidelines and DOH regulations. Masks are no longer required at our indoor lanes per PA guidelines.

Thirsty? Hungry?
